Chuck Fogarty Bio-
I'm from North Carolina, but I've lived many places in my life. I'm a 40 y/o disabled veteran. I was in the Army for 8 years, 4 years in the infantry and 4 years in the chemical corps. I went to the Gulf war in 90-91 and almost immediately started getting sick from the gulf war syndrome.
I retired on disability from the Army in 92 and went to work for the VA as a janitor in a VA nursing home. Then I worked as a ward clerk in the VA hospital. My disabilities got worse and I had to retire from the VA on disability as well.
Now my health is quite bad and I get a lot of comfort from knifemaking. It is something I can do a lot of while I'm not feeling well to keep my mind off pain. It also makes me feel really well that I'm doing something that is going to outlast me by a considerable time. I think of it as a sort of immortality.
